Audio format test stream suites are based on requirements derived from DVB and ATSC broadcast standards. MPEG-1/2, HE-AAC, AC-3 and EAC-3 audio coding formats as applicable and specified in DVB and ATSC broadcast standards are part of this test stream suite. Narlak Technologies test streams with intelligent audio content makes testing easy, tester friendly and reduces the test cycle time.

Supported audio codecs

MPEG-1 Layer I/II                           MPEG-2 Layer I/II                          HE-AAC v1 and v2
AC-3 (Dolby Digital)                       EAC-3 (Dolby Digital Plus)

    Test stream suite specification highlights

# MPEG, AC-3, EAC-3 and HEAAC codecs are covered
# All codec applicable audio sampling frequency values
# Different audio coding bitrates covering minimum and maximum expected values for all codecs and modes
# Coding modes covered Stereo, Mono, Joint Stereo, Dual Mono, Multichannel, and Parametric Stereo etc...
# Intelligent audio content for easy identification of audio breaks, glitches and other artifacts

    Audio format transition test streams

Specialized test stream suites designed with dynamic audio format attributes transitions present within a service/PID with transitions from or combination of any of the following;

# Sampling frequencies
# Coding modes (Stereo, Mono, Joint Stereo, Dual Mono, Multichannel, Parametric Stereo, etc...
# For MPEG audio between Layer I to Layer II
# Different bitrate values
# Between different codecs (Ex. MPEG-1 Layer II to MPEG-2 Layer II, AC-3 to MPEG-1 Layer II ...)

  Audio Format Test Stream Suites delivery formats: MPEG-2 TS for DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-C, DVB-S and ATSC.
